One individual posing as a veterinary doctor has been apprehended today in Akure, Ondo State. He is currently in police custody, where he confessed that he studied crop science at FECA, Akure, and not a licensed veterinary doctor.
There are pictures and video evidence against him, as well as other unlicensed practitioners, who are still being tracked and will be apprehended soon. According to available information, the suspect was caught while carrying out activities meant strictly for licensed veterinary professionals, including treating animals and handling veterinary drugs. Videos and picture evidence from the scene have been recorded.
As at the time of filing this report, he is currently at a police station in Akure, where the matter is being handled by law enforcement authorities.
This arrest is part of ongoing efforts to stop quacks from illegally treating animals, prescribing drugs, and putting animal owners and public health at risk across Ondo State.
